Committees & Facilitators

Mothers’ Center Committees are run by volunteer Mothers’ Center of Suffolk members. As you can see below, there are several members heading multiple committees and some committees don’t have members dedicated to performing the tasks. All members are welcome and encouraged to join any committee(s); just see a current committee head or any Steering member to get started.

We are currently in need of volunteers! Find your niche or special talent on a Committee! Please ask any facilitator, Steering Member, or Kathy in the office for more information on these or any specific committees that you are interested in. Your time and input, no matter how big or small, are invaluable to the continued success of the Mothers’ Center of Suffolk.

Advertising:  Solicits local businesses and members to sponsor ads in our newsletter. Kathy M.

Childcare: Oversees childcare activities and staff. NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Crafts: Coordinates crafts for Moms and Kids. NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Cycle Programming: Coordinates Mothers’ Center activities each Cycle. Carissa M., Rebecca M., Deborah F., Nicole F.

Facilitators: Run Mothers’ Center Group Discussions each Cycle. Current Facilitators: Pam B., Pam G., Danielle C., Kelly D., Bethany E., Jennifer H., Dina I., Maria L.

Financial:  Maintains the financial records of the MCS. Maria L. and NEED VOLUNTEER!

Fundraising:  Plans, coordinates and runs fundraisers. Christine M. and NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Mommy and Me:  Oversees children's instructional staff. NEED VOLUNTEER!

Newsletter:  Produces the Mom's the Word newsletter. Leanne E. and NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Open House: Hosts our Open House for interested mothers each cycle. NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Program Planning: Plans and schedules our member-facilitated discussion groups. NEED VOLUNTEER!

Publicity:  Announces all MCS activities. Barbara B. and NEED VOLUNTEER!

Social Action: Coordinates activities to help our Community. NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Social Events:  Organizes Moms' Nights out and MCS parties. Open Opportunity to VOLUNTEER!

Steering:  Oversees all Mothers' Center activities, finances and policies. Current Committee Heads/Presidents: Barbara B. & Jennifer H. Current Steering Members: Terry C., Leanne E., Pam B.

Sunshine:  Acknowledges births, deaths and other major life events in our members' lives. NEED VOLUNTEERS!

Website:  Produces and maintains our website. Current Committee Head: Danielle C.
